Scratchings and Deductions

What are deductions?

Deductions are applied to the winning portion of a bet when one or more runners in a race have been scratched, or do not run, which happen after your bet has been struck.

This information can be found on the race page as seen below:

In this race, 4. Alpha Crucis was scratched. The deductions amount is 0.2P per Pound applied to the Win or E/W price of the bet taken.

As an example, you have had £10 to Win at 4/1 on the winner. To calculate the payout for the above, we use the following method:

1. £10 stake x 4/1 odds = £50 potential payout

2. £50 - £10 stake = £40 profit

3. £40 x 0.20 = £8 deduction

4. £50 original payout - £8 deduction = £42 new payout

This same method will be used for any/all scratchings that happen, in cases where there are multiple scratchings after your bet is struck.
